New profile image uploading

We have updated the optional profile image uploading code. When you register, and if you are already registered, when you edit your profile you can now choose an image to upload for you profile picture.

This profile picture will be you avatar image in the chatooms and via the offline private messaging system too!

You can also upload a “cover image” to be a graphic across the top of your profile, similar to how facebook and twitter give you an option for a custom top / wide graphic at top of your profile there.

A great place to find royalty-free images for cover photos is unsplash.com or similar.

hover location in top bar for choosing to edit or upload a profile picture
Hover on your name in top bar when you are registered and logged in to choose your profile image that will display in the chat rooms.

If you have made your profile already and just need to edit it to change the cover image or your profile image, hover on the top right bar where your username is, a menu will pop up… hover over “profile” and then a submenu will popup and click “edit profile image”.

Then you will get a couple options for choosing a file to upload, and then you can crop the image. Don’t worry if its not perfect, once it’s uploaded you can delete / remove that one and/or upload a new one.

This is a great way to get extra attention in the chatrooms, and to help other people keep in mind who they are chatting with or sending the private messages / DMs with in the social / profiles section.
